Water Wise Workshops After School Program

Are you a high school student passionate about the environment, science, or working with kids? OARS is looking for enthusiastic high school students from Concord, Lowell, Sudbury, and Maynard to help facilitate our Water Wise Workshop After-School Program starting in the spring of 2025!

As a volunteer, you’ll be able to make a real impact by helping young students explore the natural world, learn about river ecosystems, and understand their role in protecting our environment. You’ll assist OARS staff in leading hands-on activities, guiding discussions, and providing children with a fun, engaging learning experience.

Gain Leadership Experience: You’ll help lead educational activities, work closely with kids, and develop valuable leadership and communication skills
Earn Community Service Hours: This is an excellent opportunity to fulfill your community service requirements while making a meaningful contribution to local environmental education
Support Environmental Stewardship: By volunteering, you’ll play a key role in teaching the next generation of river stewards and helping protect the Sudbury, Assabet, and Concord rivers
Get Involved in Science and Education: If you’re excited about science, ecology, or education, this is the perfect way to explore your interests while contributing to your community
