OARS BioBlitz

WHEN: July 11, 8:30am-10:00am
WHERE: Stow Town Forest, 98 Bradley Ln, Stow, MA
Join OARS for our first BioBlitz as part of the OARS Celebration of 3 Remarkable Rivers! If you can find a wild animal or plant and take a picture of it, you can participate in a BioBlitz! OARS’ TerraCorps member Callie Sties and Mass Audubon’s TerraCorps Member Wyatt Sibilia are collaborating to host a BioBlitz at the Stow Town Forest on July 11th from 8:30-10:00am. Everyone is welcome to participate as we aim to document as many different species (the bio) on this parcel as we can within 90 minutes (the blitz). The BioBlitz will rely heavily on iNaturalist to help identify species and document everything we see.
Community science surveys like this one provide crucial insights into range, phenology, and behavior of different species across Massachusetts and the world. It is highly recommended to bring a smartphone with the iNaturalist app installed if you can; if you do not have one, no worries, we will pair you with someone who has a smartphone. If you have a more enhanced camera (telephoto, macro, etc.) you are welcome to bring that as well so we can expand the types of biodiversity we can document.
Registration is required for this event and is limited to 12 people. Registration coming soon.
