About the Artists
Zannah Noe is a mixed-media and immersive installation artist whose work creates experiential environments that connect communities to place. Her practice spans large-scale projection installations, community placemaking, and the Immersive Drawing Experience, a workshop series designed to cultivate focus and flow state. She is the creator of The Cube, a portable 360-degree projection framework funded by Mass Development Placemaking and Mass Cultural Council grants, which has been presented in public contexts across the MetroWest area since 2021. The Immersive River Experience is her most ambitious installation to date, bringing the watershed landscape of the Sudbury, Assabet, and Concord rivers into vivid sensory presence for the OARS Wild and Scenic Film Festival. She works as a freelance designer and consultant in cultural planning and placemaking to nonprofits, municipalities, and community developers.
The Cube: A Modular Projection Device for 360-degree Immersive Environments
The Cube’s construction was made possible by a 2021 Mass Development Placemaking Grant, in partnership with ArtSpace Maynard and Studio InSitu Architects. Together, Noe and InSitu principal Tim Hess designed and built The Cube, a modular 3D projection framework. For the Immersive River Experience, The Cube has been reconstructed into its current dual-screen configuration with the support of Craig Fifield, ArtSpace Maynard, and project volunteers.
