Fishing Class for Kids!
Sunday, June 18 from 9 - 10:30 am.

Would your kids like to learn how to fish? OARS and Concord Outfitters will run a fishing class for children ages 6-13 years old on the banks of Nashoba Brook in West Concord.
Space is limited. Preregistration is required. Call 978-369-3956 or email OARS by June 16.

Celebrate our Wild and Scenic Rivers on a 30 mile (~3 hours) bike ride with OARS and the Nashoba Valley Pedalers.

The ride will include multiple river crossings of the Assabet, Concord and Sudbury rivers, with occasional stops for re-grouping and brief descriptions of the rivers we're celebrating. We will pass through parts of three different watersheds, all crucial to our local fresh water supply, river recreation, farms, and orchards.

Scientists study the fish on our rivers to better understand how we can protect them. Come watch a fish electro-shocking demonstration by MassWildlife and hear about what they learn from it.

NOTE: this event cannot take place in foggy or rainy conditions because of the equipment.

Robbins Open House: Learn Concord’s early African-American history at the Robbins House, built for the son and daughter of slavery survivor and Revolutionary War veteran Caesar Robbins in the early 1800s. 11am - 4pm

Celebrate Riverfest and take part in the challenge to build and race a cardboard boat in the Concord River!

Race winner categories: first to cross the finish line in boat; most creative Concord River habitat design; most spectacular sinking. Bring your team, imaginations, and intrepid spirit. Boat-making materials provided.

Celebrate the arrival of Summer with Musketaquid and OARS along the Assabet, Sudbury and Concord Rivers on Sunday, June 18. Join us as Riverfest (June 18-19), a weekend of celebrating our Wild and Scenic Rivers draws to an end!

The evening begins at 6:30 pm with a picnic on the grounds of the Old Manse. Bring food, drink, and a blanket, and relax to music by Sawyer Lawson and Band while taking in an incomparable view.

Do you like rivers? Are you concerned about our water resources? If so, this series is for you! Come have a beer, enjoy thought-provoking discussions and learn something unexpected and new.

OARS is hosting bi-monthly meetups with experts on hand at brew pubs throughout our watershed. All who are concerned, want to learn more and take action, share experiences or just meet new friends are welcome.

On Tuesday, May 2 we had our kick-off event at True West in Acton. More than 30 people joined us for conversation, a brewery tour, and some great brews!
