Allan Fierce

Board Member

Allan is the retired Executive Director of the Mass. Board of Registration of Hazardous Waste Site Cleanup Professionals (“LSP Board”) and was formerly an environmental attorney in private practice and with the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office. He holds a JD from Northwestern University School of Law. He currently serves on the Board of the Stow Conservation Trust and works on state climate legislation with the Massachusetts chapter of Elders Climate Action. 

 

River-related passions

Canoeing and kayaking; water quality monitoring for OARS; ensuring full enforcement of all laws and regulations that protect rivers; advocating for the cleanup of contaminated water bodies

 

Professional interests

Environmental protection, regulation, and enforcement; state and local climate mitigation and adaptation

OARS seeks an Executive Director to lead one of Massachusetts’ most respected watershed organizations at a pivotal moment for river health, climate resilience, and environmental equity. With a strong foundation of science, partnerships, and community trust, OARS is well-positioned to expand its impact in the coming decade.

 

Working closely with a committed Board of Directors and a talented staff team, the Executive Director will serve as OARS’ chief executive, strategist, fundraiser, and public ambassador—guiding the organization as it deepens its programs, broadens engagement, and advances bold, science-based solutions for watershed protection.
