Fishing Class for Kids!
Sunday, June 23 from 9 - 10:30 am.

Would your kids like to learn how to fish? OARS along with Concord Outfitters and Trout Unlimited will run a fishing class for children ages 6-13 years old on the banks of Nashoba Brook in West Concord.
Space is limited. Preregistration is required. Call 978-369-3956 or email OARS by noon on June 19.
Meet at the Nashoba Brook Dam in West Concord.

Start: 06/23/2019 10:00 am

Celebrate our Wild and Scenic Rivers on a 30 mile (~3 hours with a stop for ice cream) bike ride with OARS and the Nashoba Valley Pedalers.

The ride will include multiple river crossings of the Assabet, Concord and Sudbury rivers, with occasional stops for re-grouping and brief descriptions of the rivers we're celebrating. We will pass through parts of three different watersheds, all crucial to our local fresh water supply, river recreation, farms, and orchards.

Start time: 10 am (a forecast of steady rain will cancel this event)

Start: 06/23/2019 11:00 am
End: 06/23/2019 6:00 pm

Come to the riverbank by foot, or paddle, bring a picnic, and enjoy an afternoon of entertainment at the historic Old Manse (269 Monument Street).
Interested in renting a boat? Contact the South Bridge Boat House.

Scientists study the fish on our rivers to better understand how we can protect them. Come watch a fish electro-shocking demonstration by MassWildlife and hear about what they learn from it.

Date: Sunday, June 23
Time: 11am - noon
Location: Meet at the footbridge across Nashoba Brook behind Nashoba Brook Bakery in West Concord (location is flow and weather dependent).
NOTE: this event cannot take place in foggy or rainy conditions because of the equipment.

Paddle on our Wild & Scenic Rivers. Launch from the Old Calf Pasture on Lowell Road. Bring boat (or rent from South Bridge Boat House), snacks and drinks and life jacket (must be worn if 12 under). Bring a picnic if you wish to stay on and enjoy the Solstice Celebration and paddle in the illuminated flotilla back to the launch.
